Tide is made by AI Mobile Studio. By using the app you agree to what follows. It is short on purpose.
What Tide is
Tide helps you set a daily budget for time spent in apps you choose, and shows you how you are spending it. It is a tool for your own attention, not a medical device, not therapy, and not a treatment for anything. If your relationship with your phone is causing you real distress, please talk to someone qualified.
Tide is not a security product. The seals are a speed bump you agreed to, not a lock — the whole design assumes you can get past them and asks you to notice what it costs. Nothing in Tide will stop a determined person, including you.
Your account
Accounts are anonymous and created automatically. You are responsible for the device that holds yours: anyone with your unlocked phone has your account.
Crews
Joining a crew means the other members see your display name, how far under budget you were this week, and when you are in a focus session. Do not join a crew with people you would not want to see that. You can leave at any time.
Do not use a display name that impersonates someone else, or that you would not want a stranger to read.
Tide Pro
Tide Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. It renews at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before, and you manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings — not in Tide, and not by emailing us. If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
Refunds are Apple's to give. We have no ability to issue one, though we are happy to tell you how to ask.
Things not to do
- Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
- Do not use another person's account or invite code without their agreement.
- Do not use Tide to monitor somebody else's phone use without them knowing.
The app as it is
Tide is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, that it will measure perfectly, or that it will change your habits. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what you do or do not do with your own time. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited.
Ending it
You can stop using Tide whenever you like, and delete your data as described in the privacy policy. We may close an account that is being used to attack the service or to harass someone.
Changes
If these terms change materially we will update the date above and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
